Universal In-Ear Monitors
Universal in-ear monitors provide a generic fit and are made to fit most ears. Along with the in-ear monitor you'll receive different tips in generic sizes, choosing the one that fits your ear the most.
Although they are usually cheaper, universal in-ear monitors can cause discomfort after a while and never a "perfect fit", meaning they often fall out of your ears - a major distraction when performing live.

Custom In-ear Monitors for musicians with single-sided deafness
If you have single-sided deafness, we still recommend the use of a custom in-ear monitor, the Ultimate Ears UE1-Pro, for the better hearing ear. A custom musician earplug fitted to the poorer hearing ear will protect the residual hearing, if any, from further damage from loud stage sound.
